Clarksburg was the site of a preliminary skirmish during the Civil War Battle of Parker's Crossroads.  A memorial site is located adjacent to Oma's Antik Haus with a commemorative cannon and a plaque describing the skirmish.  [Click on the photo of the plaque below to enable larger print.]
