LEANNE THORNE

CITY ATTORNEY

Mrs. Thorne opened her law firm in 2006 and has practiced continuously since that time in Lexington, Tennessee, with a focus on general civil litigation, both at the trial court and appellate levels.  Mrs. Thorne graduated from the University of Tennessee-Martin in 2001, with high honors, receiving Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice and Political Science.  She received a Juris Doctor, with honors, from the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 2004.  From 2004-2006, she served as a judicial clerk for Judge John Everett Williams of the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals.  Mrs. Thorne was admitted to practice by the Tennessee Supreme Court (2004), the Western District Court of Tennessee (2007), and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals (2013).  Her focus is on prepared and zealous advocacy for each client she represents.  

 

DWAYNE D. "BUTCH" MADDOX, III

CITY JUDGE

Mr. Maddox is a graduate of Memphis State University (now University of Memphis) and the University of Tennessee at Martin, and he received his law degree from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University.  Mr. Maddox was admitted to practice law by the Tennessee Supreme Court, the United States District Court of Tennessee (Western District), and the United States Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit in 1984.  He was a partner in Maddox, Maddox, and Maddox from 1984-2011 and is now a sole practitioner in Huntingdon.  He serves as City Judge for other municipalities and has been City Judge for Clarksburg since 2000.
